CSF-FLOW

Understanding disease through CSF flow modeling and imaging

Our research focuses on unraveling how abnormal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dynamics contribute to neurological pathologies such as syringomyelia, often associated with Chiari Malformation, and hydrocephalus. By combining numerical simulations and mathematical models with in-vivo MRI measurements, we aim to clarify the physical mechanisms that link altered CSF flow to disease progression.

We are also working with patient-specific data to build computational models that can help optimize and personalize treatment strategies, offering valuable support to clinicians in diagnosis, planning, and outcome prediction.
